INTRODUCTION TO HAJJ
Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) has made it obligatory on His Slaves to perform pilgrimage to His Sacred House, making it one of the pillars of Islam. Allah (Exalted be He) says:
And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah ) is a duty that mankind owes to Allâh, for those who are able to undertake the journey; and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allâh], then Allâh stands not in need of any of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)
It is also reported in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (i.e. Al-Bukhari and Muslim) from Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Prophet SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam (peace be upon him) said: "Islam is based on five pillars: Testimony testify that there is none worthy of worship (in truth) but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaht and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; performing Salah (prayers), giving Zakah; observing Sawm (Fast) in Ramadan; and performing Hajj (pilgrimage) to the Sacred House of Allah."
Thus, it is obligatory on those who did not perform Hajj in spite of their being able to do it to hasten to perform it, as it is reported from Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam (peace be upon him) said: "Hasten to perform your (obligatory) Hajj, for one does not know what will happen to him (that could prevent him from performing it)." (Related by Ahmad)
Moreover, performing Hajj is obligatory for those who can afford the expenses for the journey. This is grounded on the literal meaning of Allah's (Exalted be He) saying: (And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah ) is a duty that mankind owes to Allâh, for those who are able to undertake the journey; and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allâh], then Allâh stands not in need of any of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
And on the Prophet's SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam (peace be upon him) saying in his sermon: (O people, Allah has made Hajj obligatory upon you, so perform it). (Reported by Muslim)
Another Hadith is that related from `Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: (O Messenger of Allah, are women obliged to perform Jihad? He said: Indeed, they have to perform a (kind of) Jihad that involves no fight; Hajj and `Umrah.) (Related by Ahmad and Ibn Majah through an authentic chain of narration)
On the other hand, Hajj and `Umrah are obligatory only once in a lifetime, as it was authentically reported that the Prophet SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam (peace be upon him) said: (Hajj is (obligatory only) once, so whoever performs it more than that, it would be (regarded as) a supererogatory act.)
Moreover, it is recommended to perform Hajj and `Umrah frequently as a supererogatory act of worship, since it was authentically related in the Two Sahih Books of Hadith from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam (peace be upon him) said: (The performance of) `Umra is an expiation for the sins committed (between it and the previous one). And the reward of Hajj Mabrur (the one accepted by Allah) is nothing except Paradise.
When a Muslim intends to travel to perform Hajj or `Umrah, it is recommended that they advise their family and friends to adhere to Taqwa (fear/wariness of offending Allah), which means complying with Allah's (Glorified and Exalted be He) Commands and avoiding His Prohibitions.
The real essence of repentance is to abandon and keep away from sins, regret previously-committed sins, and determine not to return to them again. Furthermore, if such sins involve doing wrong to people, through killing, stealing, or slandering, people should return what they had seized unjustly or seek the forgiveness of those whom one had wronged before traveling. Prophet (peace be upon him) said: (He who has done wrong to his fellow (Muslim), through calumniation or seizure of his property, let him ask his forgiveness today before the time (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) when there will be neither dinar nor dirham. If he has done some good deeds, a portion equal to his wrong doings will be subtracted from them; but if he has no good deeds, he will be burdened with the evil deeds of the one he had wronged in the same proportion.)
They should also choose from their wealth, for the expenditure of Hajj and `Umrah, money which is purely and lawfully obtained, since it was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: (Allah (Exalted be He) is Good and does not accept anything but that which is good.) . Moreover, Al-Tabarany related from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
(When a pilgrim sets out for Hajj with lawful and pure earnings, and he says: "Labbayka Allahumma labayk", a caller calls him from Heaven saying: "Labbayka wa Sa`dayka (You will be given continuous help in carrying out your acts of worship). Your provision is lawful and your mount (means of transportation) is lawful". But, if he sets out with unlawful means and says, "labbayka", a caller from Heaven will call him saying: "Laa labbayka walaa Sa`dayk (Your Talbiyah is not accepted and there is no help for you in carrying out your worship)", for your provision is from unlawful means and your earnings are from unlawful means and your Hajj is not accepted.)

I highly recommend One Call. They're reliable, professional and honest. My family and I completed our Hajj 2018 with One call. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Brother Yasin assisted us every time and didn't leave us stranded like other tour companies do. He gave us lectures on performing hajj and the rituals so that we perform them correctly and with ease.
JazaakAllah Khayr! May Allah accept our Hajj. Ameen
- Nabiha Rahman (Hajj 2018)
Alhamdulillah lillah my wife and I completed our Hajj this year with Onecall Travels. We had a wonderful experience travelling with brother Yasin and our relatively small group. The hajj briefing in London was excellent. Brother Yasin was always contactable and happy to answer any of our questions. The hotel in Madinah was very close to the women's entrance to the Prophet's mosque as promised; in Makkah we stayed in Swissotel and were blessed with an amazing view of the kabah from our room. The hotel services in Makkah, Madinah and Aziziyah were excellent. Brother Yasin held regular meetings with our group to update us on logistics and provide hajj guidance in accordance with Quran and sunnah. Because everything ran so smoothly, we felt that our hajj was easy.
- Shahanshah Riad (Hajj 2018)
Me and my family are very happy to have gone with One Call Travel, I highly recommend this agency to all for a tailored experience.
Our hajj experience was a good and unforgettable one. Due to Bother Yasin's 15 years of experience we felt that we were in good hands.
He had provided us with much needed seminars with relevant topics in intervals which gave us the confidence to carry out our Hajj rites to the best of our ability.
I would recommend One Call Travel to all I know and inshaa Allah I would love to take the rest of my family members soon.
- Husna Khanom (Hajj 2018)
Subhanallah... I was all ready to give a massive review... But the truth is I am still speechless! I am still completely taken back with the whole experience. Allah was a great host and he sent his best (Yaseen) to look after us. Hajj is 5 days approximately, and those 5 days could dictate your position in this world and certainly is the hearafter. If accepted your slate is clean but you need to keep it as clean as possible till you depart from this world. Therefore you need a company that will not just help you to find accommodation, visa and transport etc. But a company that will show you how to complete Hajj the way our beloved prophet (PBUH) completed it away from cultural innovations, how to keep your slate clean and how to walk the path to Jannah.
If that is what you are looking for then One Call travels under Yaseens supervision is what you need to complete your hajj.
Yes there are trials in Hajj but Yaseen manages your expectations from day 1 so you know what to expect and how to best prepare your self. The talks and lectures are so relevant to every day life.
Thank you for a fantastic Hajj experience. May Allah except our efforts. Ameen
- Owais Saad (Hajj 2018)
Alhamdullilah me and my husband went with One Call Travels for our Hajj experience (2018). I would highly recommend One Call Travels. It was my first time performing Hajj and I was very anxious whether I would be able to perform Hajj in the correct way. We were all provided with a step by step guide as well regular seminars throughout the whole journey. Everytime we had a question weather it was silly or not brother Yasin answered it with confidence and big smile. He was always very helpful, friendly, efficient and made time for everyone. May Allah reward brother Yasin for all his hard work and efforts inshaAllah. I was a lot more confident while performing my Hajj and everything felt much easier than anticipated as we received constant guidance and reassurance.
InshaAllah would defiantly go again with One Call Travels to perform Hajj/ umrah and now i can say that with full confidence as they delivered more than my expectations. Defiantly your 5* package and experience.
InshaAllah we all have the ability to go again and Allah grant us all Hajj Mabroor ameen

Fantastic Hajj trip with my parents
I have been using OneCall Travels for many years now for my Umrah trips. I have never faced any issues and the services were good. So I decided to go on Hajj with my parents, and as expected, it was very organised. We didn't have any issues right from booking until we arrived back in London! Brother Yasin kept ALL his promises and we got what he said we will get, alhamdulillah.
When comparing OneCall Travels with other tour companies, we found OneCall Travels to be up there as one of the best mashaAllah. We had many friends and relatives who also went on Hajj the same time as us with different tour operators and they had numerous complaints from bad hotel locations to not receiving their Hajj Visas! We are extremely grateful, firstly to Allah and then to OneCall Travels for making our Hajj trip so smooth and easy for us.
The pricing is very reasonable and you definitely get what you pay for. The hotels we stayed in were top class in both Makkah and Madinah. Services in Mina & Arafat were excellent. Coaches were superb with good air conditioning, usb charging ports and numerous snacks & refreshments along the way.
One of the most important things for me is COMMUNICATION. Brother Yasin is quick to respond to any queries or concerns you may have mashaAllah.
I highly recommend booking with OneCall Travels!!
I ask Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) to accept our righteous actions and make us sincere. Ameen
- MS Ahmed (Hajj 2018)
Assalamu'Alaikum to my dear brothers and sisters who are reading this review. Alhamdulillah by the grace and blessing from Allah "swt" i was able to complete my Hajj on 2018 with the help and guidance from OneCallTravels. I would like to give a massive thanks to Br Yasin Chowdhury and Br Shah Ali and Br Guljar for their tremendous amount of efforts in helping us, guiding us, watching over us, answering to all of our questions, mentoring us and keeping their words true to us throughout this whole epic journey! May Allah "swt" reward you all immensely Ameen!
Not everythink was as imagined, but it is what it is. There are some hardship that cannot be compromised, you will see and be in a uncomfortable positions, But Alhamdulillah regardless of these small hardships, the service we received was 5 star and majority of our journey was made extremely easy and well planned out. In Madinah we stayed in Al Haram hotel, litrelly few steps away from our beloved Prophet Mohammed "saw" Masjid. In Makkah we stayed in the SwissHotel, which is attached to the clock tower and on the 2nd floor! Took us nomore then 5 minutes to leave our room and to be infront of the Kabba! In Aziziya we stayed in Zahrat Al Yaaser Hotel which was based half way point between Makkah and Mina. Each location had plenty of minicab service, shopping malls and food courts. Throughout each transitions we were fully made aware and ready, which made our journeys pleasent and not delayed unlike the stories you hear from other groups.
Br Yasin gave us seminars throughout our journey, Quran and Sunnah was our guidelines, and we followed no one expect what our Prophet Muhammed "saw" did and told us to do.
How greatful i am to be able to perform my Hajj 2018, and for it to be the way it was. I highly recommend OneCallTravels, Br Yasin, Br Shah Ali and Br Guljar, you all have a warm place in my heart. Thank You!
- Mohammed Siddique (Hajj 2018)
I traveled with One Call Travels for Hajj 2018, My package was; 5* Madina, 5* Makkah and then performing Hajj from Aziziyah, I was really impressed with the logistics.
Flights were on time, coaches were brand new! and the hotels were amazing. We checked in immediately soon as we arrived and were treated to gifts. All of our accommodations provided breakfast and dinner which was really convenient and food was always different and great.
During the days of Hajj coaches were provided for transport, the Mina camp was truly VIP compared to some we walked past, ours was spacious and packed with air-conditioning. Again Arafat camp was like a 6* tent, huge in size, very clean and equipped with air-con. Throughout the trip, the operators were always available and attentive, encouring the hujjaj and making it easy to the best of their abilities.
A few words about the owner of One Call, amazing individual, full of heart and has one mission, to please Allah through his hujjaj.
Above all, Alhamdulilah my journey was amazing all thanks to Allah. He is most compassionate and he made it easy for all the Hujjaj.
- A Samad (Hajj 2018)
What type of Hajj will be performing as a Group?
We will be performing Hajj al-Tamattu'. It involves performing Umrah and then Hajj,
This form of Hajj is considered the best of three forms of Hajj. It is the one that the Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) urged his followers to perform and is the one adopted by most pilgrims from overseas.
What are the Stages of Hajj al-Tamattu'?
The following are the stages and rituals of Hajj al-Tamattu' in brief
Who arranges the Qurbani (hadi) sacrificial animal?
- Ihram for initial Umrah
- Tawaf and Sa'ye ( Umrah )
- Ihram for Hajj al-Tamattu'
- Going to Mina
- Going to Arafat
- Going to Muzdalifah
- Proceeding to Mina from Muzdalifah
- Tawaf al-Ifadha & Sa’ye
- Qurbani ( Hadi )
- Haircut / Shave
- Mina ( Jamarat )
- Farewell Tawaf
A qurbani will be carried out on your behalf, this is included in your package.
Do you provide religious guidance seminars in London as well as during the Hajj period?
Yes, we provide comprehensive digital guides in four languages, English, Bengali, Urdu & Arabic as well as supplication books. A few weeks before departure we arrange one day seminar covering religious aspects as well as logistics and practical health & safety guidance. Participants also have an opportunity to ask questions during the seminar. We also hold lectures throughout the Hajj tour, lectures on Tawhid, Emaan & methods of closeness to Allah. Topics are broadcasted via WhatsApp to all our clients. (Google review page has samples)
Will I have to pay for meals?
Whilst in the hotels, you are covered half board within the package. In Mina & Arafat is full board. Any additional meals over and above this you will have to pay for.
What kind of clothing do you recommend?
The weather in Saudi Arabia is between 30C to 50C but during the winter months it can get a little chilly at night. It is recommended to pack few warm clothing such as a jumper. The rest of the time you will need cool, comfortable clothing.
How do I arrange cleaning of my laundry?
This can be done through services provided by the hotel, which may be higher priced compared to other laundrettes around the local areas, often at a cheaper rate.
How much money should I take with me and what is the exchange rate?
Please carry sufficient money, for any food, laundry bills, shopping and souvenirs. It is recommended to take at least a five hundred pounds per person, but this obviously varies from person to person. We do not recommend that you take travellers cheques as you will not have your passport with you at times when you may need to cash them. The exchange rate will vary from time to time. As a rough guide, it is nearly 4.8 Riyals to 1 British Pound. Money changing is not difficult as there are many exchange counters around the local areas in Makkah and Madinah. Meals approx. cost around £5 or 25 Riyals outside the hotel. Meals inside the hotels are charged in a much higher price between 150 to 200 Riyals.
Can I take some ZamZam water back to UK with me?
A 5 Litre Zamzam is included in your package, which will be given to you on departure from the airport.
Do I need sleeping bag and Mina Bag?
Sleeping Bag and Mina Duffle bag is included in your package, which will be given to you in London.
What If I fall ill during my trip?
A certain amount of medical care is provided by the Saudi authorities for free, however, we strongly advise you to consult your doctor prior to your trip. It is also essential to take enough medication to last you for the full period of our package.
Can we compare 5 Star Hotels and services to UK standards?
All the hotels in Saudi Arabia are star graded by the Ministry of Tourism and are of Saudi Arabian regulatory standard. They are not equivalent to UK standards. Room occupancy during Hajj and Ramadan season is maximised by Most Hotels, they use extra beds in Triple room, turning it into quad and turn double into triple by same method.
What happens if the date of Hajj changes due to moon sighting?
Our itinerary is speculative to the lunar calendar dates set according to the official Saudi calendar. However, if due to the actual sighting of the moon the day is adjusted, we have no control over this and will have to adjust the programme accordingly. (Have a few days grace period for the itinerary).
How are the tents in Mina & Arafat?
We use European tents as used by most UK groups, and offer VIP (Saudi VIP) services including sofa-beds, added AC units, hot food, plaster-board cladded tents (to keep the tent cool) and 24 hour hot / cold drinks. In Arafat modern AC tents. Both places Men and women stay in separate tents.
How do I know my hajj is accepted?
We will guide you before and during the Hajj period with the actual prophetic ( peace and blessings be upon him ) method of Hajj rituals, keeping away from any cultural actions and beliefs that will jeopardise your hajj reward.
